The New Wave Of Touchscreen Phones
At the Mobile World Congress this year, 3 phones arguably stole the show as the sexiest touchscreen phones on display. Let's take a look at those upcoming masterpieces: the LG Arena, the Samsung Tocco Ultra and the peerless Sony Ericsson Idou.
LG Arena - S-Class, Pure Class...
LG have set a few benchmarks in their time, with phones like the Viewty, and now, they've set a new one with the stunning LG Arena. There's one simple reason why that is: the interface. You see, the LG Arena is the first phone form the Korean manufacturer to use their new S-Class interface, which presents everything as icons on a 3D cube, that you spin around using your fingertips. It's an incredible interface, and it makes the LG Arena a phone that begs to be touched and caressed. Combine that with a 5 megapixel camera, and a superb media player, and you get what amounts to one of the best multimedia phones in the industry, with the LG Arena.
Samsung Tocco Ultra - looks AND power
But what happens if you want a phone that has both a touchscreen AND a keypad? Then for you, there's the Samsung Tocco Ultra, that combines the touchscreen goodness of the Tocco, with the sleek looks of the Ultra Edition series, to make a phone that's shockingly thin, considering it includes both a huge touchscreen, and a full alphanumeric keypad. The Samsung Tocco Ultra also inherits the TouchWiz interface from its predecessor, and that makes for an incredible user experience. The features are better than the Arena, too, as it also has an 8 megapixel camera.
Sony Ericsson Idou - nothing can beat this monster...
However, the best has definitely been saved till last, because as good as the LG Arena and Tocco Ultra are, one phone outshone both of them: the phenomenal Idou by Sony Ericsson. This includes the latest Symbian Touch interface, but in this beauty, Sony Ericsson have included a custom interface on top. And it's truly wonderful, with smooth finger swipes and gestures taking you through the menus. But that's not its party piece... you may have noticed the cameras in these 3 phones have been getting bigger with each phone described, and the Idou is no exception. With the Arena, you get a 5MP camera, whereas the Samsung Tocco Ultra has a wonderful 8MP camera... well, the Idou beat them both, thanks to its immense TWELVE megapixel camera, that beats EVERYTHING on the market. If these three phones represent the best on display, the Sony Ericsson Idou is quite simply the best of the best!
